Leilouta You must be pulling our legs here, i dont belive you would say that!! I am surprised. Rubi isnt that attractive or pretty & her talents at singing arent exactly the material to envy her for, singing wise i can say she is like Haifa but Haifa exudes femininty while rubi ....i will keep there. I personally prefer Magda el Rumi & next is that vixen carole samaha.
Leilouta Do you mean by charming her presence in the video, her dances or moves or personality? Alot of her success was due to men drooling over her. But then, they drool over anything these days.
Pazuzu Yes they are, there is another singer i like but her songs are not so common, perhaps as she is hardly prolific, her name is dania...i think she is quite good but seems lost amidst the newcomers.
Oh yes Dania was very nice, I don't know if she made any recent songs, I rememeber a few years back she made an album including the remix of the egyptian song: el7elwa di amet...
But after that I didn't hear much of her. It's hard to get funds in the business right now. We only have space for Big Stuff, between Hayfa wehbe and Nanci Ajram, there is little space for others. it took Mageda years to get any company to finance her newest album. Same thing's happening with Julia and all the singers that are looking for high quality performance.
Don't get me wrong I am not against pop entertainment, but I don't like to be deprived from the other sorts of songs. Any healthy society should have at least a bit of everything.
hey when it comes to comparing Hayfa Wehbe and Ruby I think the comparison can't be qualitative but more about the quality of there beauty. While Hayfa is the ultimate symbol of mature sexual femme in our society, Ruby is less perfect and less imposing, that's what produces the certain "charm". Part of it is maybe the age difference, not sure.
Pazuzu Of course there should be this & that, flashy pop songs & quality ones too, you cannot leave out talents like magda & others while hayfa gets her album whenever she likes. Well, i'm not a hayfa wahby fan, but she is definitely attractive & has become an Icon. Ruby however is still young & i dunno...she isnt an icon & i find her a bit cold. by the way, please can you help me know who sang that lebanese song in the 70's i think, i am not sure of the title either...it was about an old guy who a girl, salma comes to buy stuff from & he cant hear what she is saying & thinks she is deaf, was it called " abo mer3i"?
wow you know that song? it's a sort of family ritual for us, my mom's came from the mountains of lebanon, jabaliyyé as we call them and she used to sing us this song ever since we were kids. Unfortunatly she does'nt know the author of the song. I only heard it on tape once or twice in my life lol.

Carole and Mageda are really exceptionnal
I don't think that Roubi has a good voice. I just think that she is charming.
I love Majda El Roumi too, and I prefer her old songs.
